CTU extends their support through extensions services forum and festival

As the sun started to rise, dozens of people surged towards the gate waiting beside to join the extensions services. They walked unto the pavement of the school to search the lecture and demonstration being done by different teachers. They were after about the learning and engaging new knowledge.

Welcome to Cebu Technological University, the university that helps all people.

If anyone wants to know what public service means- and the enormous task ahead- they could do something better in implementing outreach program in different places in the country. One of the women who attended there, who gave her name as Anna, said she tried to have a business on what she could make. “panahon na gyud ning magkat on para maka negosyo ko”(this is now the time that we can learn how to do business).

Of today's population, the number of individuals increased which resulted to the increasing demand of daily needs. Number of ways have been taken to find techniques on how to lessen poverty in the society.

Cebu Technological University had indeed made support the circumstances that the public have had by having an extension program for everybody. They considered people as a frontline of the society and must be given attention by giving them an idea on how to make their lives be better in the coming days.

The population had decreased this year than the last year. Most of them were pregnant mothers, young children, students and adults coming from different communities.

Trade technology. According to Mrs. Elsa Malabar, one of the demonstrators of CTU main said they need to help other people because it is their obligation. “as a teacher, we have to share because it is a part of our function and job that is why it is called extension” she said.

Dr. Wilma C. Giango also mentioned the major mission of their demonstration that is to promote and share their learnings to people that has eagerness to learn.

The whole morning session was all about Moringa or horse raddish. Transforming this miracle tree into different food and drink.

People got interested about the basic digital photography of Dr. Rey Rojas. They gained information, lots of information. “you can imagine a scene in your mind that you like and you can take pictures as u want” he said.

After he said that, i went back to my seat to observe the whole demonstration and found out that the demonstrators really did their very best and promoted several practices and behaviors to assure audience to stay alert.

And their major concern was to lecture and to listen the questions of the audience and to addressed a response to everyone.

Before the extension services, many people did'nt have the idea of what thing they would do to uplift their lives from necessity but when CTU introduced the 2nd EXTENSIONS SERVICES FORUM, the audience already had something on their mind to bring up their lives.

There are some evidences of social change. The Extension forum becomes popular due to its effectiveness in the society and its sustainable affection to the people as well as the individuals through successful services that changes the lives of many people in the society.

This story holds the real view and the real side between the people, students and the university itself. Starting with the approach to technology that is concerned with the lives of the community as a whole. Public service is a community service.

“Goats, being small animals are commonly known as “poor man’s cow” kay their upkeep entails only a small initial investment and a correspondingly small risk of loss. This makes goat farming an attractive proposition for household because goats are small, both women and children can conveniently look after them.

HE RULES

A Critical Essay on President Aquino’s SONA

People shouted happily when Gloria Macapagal Arroyo stepped out in Malacañang Palace after Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III won the presidency in the May 10 elections. Many people attended the proclamation of the newly elected president in the Quirino Grandstand Quezon City, Manila. Almost all people nationwide were amazed in his speech with regards to the country’s major and minor problems.

People had already reacted P-Noy before he was elected in May 10, 2010. They believed that P-Noy’s administration will give them a better living in 6 years sitting in Malacañang. They fight for the increase of wages and more jobs the country. We already shouted our needs and wants to the new administration by protesting.

As P-Noy delivered his first speech in State of the Nation Address (SONA), people gained knowledge about the litany of problems, primarily corruption and the depletion of funds, left by Arroyo. We were greatly affected by Arroyo’s administration because she didn’t hold responsibilities to take care the nation’s welfare. For that, so many reactions between us excelled.

The State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Aquino pointed out the problems of the former administration in which he corrected and opened the eyes of some government leaders to walk in the right path towards progress.

He made promises to solve the corruption in our country, the changes in government and the creation of private and public partnerships which gives us hope to uplift our economy and our country.

His speech made us brave to fight the things that we want to assert and made us strong to stop the things that had happened to us lately in Arroyo’s reign. We already knew what is wrong but the fact is we ignored it.

According to Sun Star Cebu, President Benigno Aquino III’s appeal for local governments to streamline processes, like the issuance of business permits, gained approval of Cebu’s business and government circles. Filipino-Cebuano Business Club Inc. (FCBI) President Rey Calooy, in a text message said a streamlined process will help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) cut the costs of doing business. “The simpler the processes, the more new investments will come” Mandaue of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) President Eric Mendoza said.

P-Noy made some future plans for the countrymen like increasing the ten years of education for students to twelve years of education due to the country’s problem in educational roots (handling computers and English speaking). The most important is the negotiation between the country’s government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) for peace.

The nation hopes P-Noy to take a stand in his first speech in SONA.
